Job description
What you will be working on:
  • Responsible for the overall planning, organisation, co‑ordination, and supervision of Hydrographic Survey.
  • Ensure Singapore waters are adequately and accurately surveyed:
    • a) Assure quality and certify results of hydrographic surveys (IHO Cat “A” in Hydrographic Surveying required for approval).
    • b) Oversee regulation of hydrographic surveys in Singapore Waters.
  • Formulate and implement the department’s policies, work plans and procedures, including:
    • a) Training and career development.
    • b) Work plan.
    • c) Digitalisation and transformation.
    • d) ISO Quality management system.
  • Assist the Chief Hydrographer on formulating and implementing the division’s policies, work plans and procedures.
  • Participate in regional and international fora on hydrographic matters and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests.
  • Undertake project assignments as and when directed.

  • Background in hydrography, geomatics, surveying, engineering, geographical information systems, maritime navigation or a related field.

  • Strong understanding of nautical chart production, maintenance, and use.
