[What you will be working on]
- Responsible for the overall planning, organisation, co-ordination, and supervision of Hydrographic Survey.
- Ensure Singapore waters are adequately and accurately surveyed: a) Assure quality and certify results of hydrographic surveys (IHO Cat “A” in Hydrographic Surveying required for approval).
- Oversee regulation of hydrographic surveys in Singapore Waters.
- Formulate and implement the department’s policies, work plans and procedures, including:
- Training and career development
- Work plan
- Digitalisation and transformation
- ISO Quality management system
- Assist the Chief Hydrographer on formulating and implementing the division’s policies, work plans and procedures.
- Participate in regional and international fora on hydrographic matters and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests.
- Undertake project assignments as and when directed.
Qualifications

- Experienced in leading a department or division
- Excellent communication, management and teamwork abilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Background in hydrography, geomatics, surveying, engineering, geographical information systems, maritime navigation or a related field
- Strong knowledge of hydrographic survey principles and practices
- Strong familiarity with hydrographic equipment and software
- Strong understanding of nautical chart production, maintenance, and use
