Job description

Major Responsibilities:

To lead overall sales and business development activities within the our networks, in particular Singapore and Malaysia

Position Characteristics:

The work requires:

  • High degree of expertise on freight forwarding and related logistics services

  • Some initiatives to offer logistics solutions to our customers within the Group.

  • Creating collaborations within networks to build required competencies.

  • Goal setting to set specific objectives for business development such as budgeting.

  • High degree of leadership and motivating others.

  • Organization structure and planning – right size, right type and right skill to be developed.

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide freight forwarding and supply chain related services such as sea, air, cross-border transportation, warehousing, customs and trade compliances

  2. Retain, build and grow both existing and new business within the our networks

  3. Responsible for all sales and business development activities for Singapore and Malaysia

  4. Retain existing key accounts controlled by Singapore and Malaysia

  5. Involve in setting regional sales budgets and develop or strengthen up competencies to achieve or exceed our budget goals (revenue, gross profit and volume plan)

  6. Set up and lead the acquisition of “Network Account" (large target customers)

  • Work with our branches and agents to develop solution-based approach

  • Create key stakeholders’ relationship program on the accounts (stakeholders: decision makers, influencers, etc.)

  • Make the regional visits to assist business acquisition in the countries

7. Lead or assist tender process (RFQ or RFP) to able to response with high quality and increase chance of winning

8. Initiate, assist and launch sales and business development models to achieve budget plans such as:

Trade Lane Focus

  • Air-Freight Consolidation model

  • Sea Freight Consolidation model – such as Retails, Consumer Electronics, and Automotive

  • Regional DC in Thailand model (Convince target customers to move RDC from Singapore to Thailand)

  • And assist regional headquarter to launch local logistics programs in each country

9. Provide commercial leadership to:

  • Build or strengthen up sales process from prospecting, identifying and acquiring new businesses on existing and new potential customers

  • Lead and organize regular network discussions

  • Assist to identify and develop key competencies required by vertical markets

  • Assist to deploy sales training programs such as product training

  • Enhance our brand through participation in key supply chain events, and associations
