This full-time faculty position plays a critical role in advancing curriculum design, assessment strategy, and educational innovation in the Duke-NUS MD Programme. The position is suited for an education specialist with a strong foundation in health professions education who can collaborate with clinical and academic faculty to drive curricular improvement, programme evaluation, and scholarship. Working closely with the Associate Dean of the MD Programme, the successful candidate will contribute to curriculum development and implementation, curriculum mapping, assessment planning, programme evaluation, faculty development, and educational research.
Key Responsibilities1. Curriculum and Assessment
- Provide educational leadership in selected curricular domains or longitudinal themes in partnership with clinical faculty.
- Collaborate closely with the Associate Dean and teaching faculty in the development, integration, and evaluation of teaching and assessment strategies across the MD curriculum.
- Contribute to curriculum mapping efforts to ensure alignment with programme learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
- Collaborate on the design, implementation and quality assurance of key student assessments.
2. Faculty Development and Educational Practice
- Support teaching faculty in aligning pedagogy and assessment with curriculum goals.
- Contribute to faculty development initiatives related to evidence-informed education practices.
- Facilitate reflection and continuous instructional improvement within the curriculum team.
3. Engagement with Programme Evaluation
- Collaborate with the institutional Quality Assurance and Programme Evaluation efforts to review and interpret data related to curriculum effectiveness.
- Use evaluation findings to guide improvements in curriculum design, instructional methods, and assessment.
- Contribute to documentation supporting accreditation and curriculum review as needed.
4. Educational Scholarship
- Conduct research in medical and health professions education and contribute to the School's scholarly output.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on innovation and scholarship in teaching and learning.
5. Institutional Engagement
- Serve on curriculum, assessment, and education committees as appropriate.
- Engage with internal and external partners in support of programme improvement and strategic initiatives.
- Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with the evolving needs of the MD Programme.
- Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in Health Professions Education or a related field is required.
- At least 5 to 8 years of experience in curriculum design, programme evaluation, or faculty development in a health professions or higher education context.
- Familiarity with medical education frameworks and competency-based education principles.
- Evidence of scholarship and educational leadership in health professions education.
- Have strong knowledge of instructional design, assessment methods, and educational theory.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical and academic faculty.
- Skilled in project management, curriculum analysis, and use of educational data for quality improvement.
- Commitment to fostering excellence and innovation in medical education.
