Job Description

The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for Assistant/Associate-level Professorship at the Centre for Translational MR Research (TMR) in the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. This is a tenure-track position with a 12-month salary fully paid by the university.

The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (YLLSOM) is a leading research institution, ranked in the top 20 worldwide and the top in Asia (QS ranking). Established in 1905, it trains medical professionals for Singapore, hosting over 40 departments in basic sciences and clinical specialties, along with research centers and translational research programs.

If hired, the Professor will join the Centre for Translational MR Research (TMR), which provides advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) facilities for clinical and translational research. TMR supports imaging and analysis from basic science to clinical trials. More information is available at https://medicine.nus.edu.sg/tmr/.

Responsibilities

The Professor is expected to lead an independent research program and contribute significantly to areas including, but not limited to:

  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) acquisition, preprocessing, and analysis
  • Multi-modal and multi-body imaging (especially cardiac, neuro, and metabolic areas)
  • Machine learning applied to brain and body MRI

The appointment may be affiliated with the Department of Medicine, Diagnostic Radiology, Pharmacology, or Physiology within YLLSOM, with opportunities for collaboration with the Centre for Sleep and Cognition and the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (with MR-PET facilities). Joint appointments with the College of Design and Engineering are also possible. The candidate will have access to a network of scientists for collaborative research.

Research Facilities and Compensation

The Professor will have access to two research-dedicated 3T MRI scanners, EEG/eye trackers, digital wearables, and high-performance computing resources. Salary scales are comparable to those in the United States, and a competitive start-up package will be provided.

Application Process

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, research statement (max 3 pages), teaching statement (max 3 pages), and three references with contact details to Ms. Wee Kia Hui at wkiahui@nus.edu.sg. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
