Job description

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead, mentor and develop team of engineers, providing guidance and support.

• Coordinate with sales department and department head on customer inquiries and job requirements.

• Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities as well as track team progress on fulfilment of duties including (but not limited to):

1. Machine recommendation

2. Machining time-study

3. Process proposal

4. New machine commissioning

5. Technical support

6. Any relevant duties and responsibilities assigned by management

• Review engineers reports/proposals prior to submission to customers

• Conduct performance reviews of team of engineers and provide feedback and recommendations to department head.

• Recruit and onboard new team members.

Project Management Support

• Advise and support project team on activities related to projects including planning. executing and monitoring to ensure specifications, timelines and budgets are met.

• Advise and support project team on development of project plans, timelines and resource allocation strategies.

• Identify and propose mitigation strategies on project risks and issues.

• Assist in communication of technical issues and statuses to relevant stakeholders and resource owners.

Requirements:

• Minimum polytechnic diploma in engineering

• Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering related to CNC and multi-axis, multi-tasking machining processes, preferably in team leadership or managerial toles.

• Possess good understanding of engineering principles, technologies and best practices, as well as application knowledge in metal cutting principles and techniques in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.

• Coupled with this experience, the candidate will require to have excellent communication & presentation skills, both written and oral and have high degree of self motivation and sense of responsibility

• Possess a positive attitude towards problem-solving and strong sense of urgency in handling of projects/responsibilities.

• Good communication skill with positive customer service attitudes and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with engineers, managers, clients and other stakeholders.

• Effective team leader and team player to drive and motivate team to achieve success together

• Be prepared to travel locally and regionally to support customer and regional offices for enquires and project support including execution of turnkey projects.
