Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant / Accountant. You will play a pivotal role in assisting with preparing and interpreting financial statements and management reports, administering accounting policies and procedures, and assisting in budgetary control and all contractual matters in different areas. If you are an organized and detail-oriented individual, we want you to be part of our growing team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in / ensure monthly financial statements and financial reports are prepared timely and are prepared in accordance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and corporate guidelines.

  • Responsible for timely submission of management reports to respective stakeholders.

  • Prepare daily General Cashier report to ensure operations return daily cash float at end of shift on timely basis.

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation and handle banking matters.

  • Responsible for daily F&B deposit posting and F&B deposit utilisation posting.

  • Responsible for daily inter-company invoice posting and monthly Interested Party Transaction reporting.

  • Prepare month-end accrual journals and balance sheet reconciliation schedules.

  • Perform monthly cash count and cashier-related activities, including banking and top-up cash machine.

  • Prepare monthly GST reconciliation and Quarterly GST return.

  • Assist in / In charge of quarterly Operating Equipment count and reporting.

  • Assist in Fixed account count and tagging.

  • Handling Fixed Assets related matters including review and check capex and assets disposal.

  • Review refunds and petty cash claims.

  • Assist in handling Internal Audit and External Audit on all matters.

  • Assist in ensuring Internal Control Policies and Procedures are effectively executed and complied with by all departments.

  • Perform any task assigned by Finance Manager / Senior Finance Manager / Asst. Director of Finance / Director of Finance / Management.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Accountancy or an equivalent professional qualification.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, reporting standards, and regulations.

  • Proficient in software applications which include Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of SAP, Opera and Infrasys will be an added advantage.

  • A team player with positive and proactive attitude.

  • Possess excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to multitask and prioritize in fast-paced environment.
