Overview:
The Trading and Market Strategies team is the central trading desk for Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM) and executes cash equities, listed & OTC derivatives across global asset classes for portfolio managers throughout the Asset Management Division. This is a global desk with a presence in New York and Singapore. Specifically, this person will focus on our Fundamental Equity ("FE"), Quantitative Investment Strategies (QIS) and other portfolio managers in GSAM. Our platform provides institutional clients with investment opportunities around the world via a wide variety of financial instruments & strategies.

The desk is looking for an Associate in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Execute stocks, ETFs, futures, FX, NDF and OTC derivatives (options, interest rate swap & total return swap etc) on behalf of Portfolio Managers.
2. Work closely with the investment teams to develop and optimize implementation strategies.
3. Provide market color to constituents around the division.
4. Conduct pre and post trade cost analysis for the team to ensure a detailed understanding of trading activity.
5. Develop and maintain counterparty relationships.
6. Lead or assist in various engineering or research initiatives for Portfolio Managers and the trading desk.
7. Execute trades using a combination of high-touch & low touch methods.
8. Ad hoc project work, client engagement such as trading demo/presentation as required by client servicing teams.
9. Day to day administrative tasks, liaison with Operations & Engineering team, in support of trading activities.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum 3 years of trading experience on sell or buyside, dealing in multiple asset classes.
2. A strong interest in understanding the markets with relevant experience.
3. Independent thinker with good analytical and quantitative skills.
4. Motivated team player with a strong work ethic. Ability to work well in a team environment is critical.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to handle multi-tasks in a fast-paced environment.
7. Attention to details, able to handle a fast-paced high volume trading activities.
8. Individuals who aspire to build a long term career as a buyside trader.
