    Asset & Wealth Management Private Credit

    Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management Private Credit is one of the world’s largest alternative credit investing platforms with approximately $100bn of AUM and investment professionals based in the US, Europe, Asia and Australia.

    GS Private Credit is a dynamic platform with significant cross-pollination across strategies – direct lending (middle market and large cap performing credit), opportunistic and structured investments across debt and equity.

    The team originates, executes and manages credit investments across Direct Lending and Hybrid Capital strategies, deploying our senior, mezzanine and hybrid drawdown credit funds and the Firm’s balance sheet.

    Direct Lending invests alongside the world’s leading financial sponsors in support of LBO transactions and other financing transactions for sponsors’ portfolio companies for companies with EBITDA ranging from $10mm to $100+mm across a wide range of industries.

    Hybrid Capital provides solutions for businesses seeking non-control alternatives to traditional private equity or growth equity, cost of capital optimization or greater flexibility than traditional debt.

    Associates work as part of small deal teams responsible for identifying, conducting due diligence, structuring, executing, and monitoring investments, and are involved in a wide variety of exciting transactions across the capital structure in a variety of industries.

    Responsibilities

    • Support investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g., financial sponsors / company management teams for the private-side investing platforms)
    • Engage in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses
    • Participate in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments
    • Communicate and defend investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including the Private Credit Investment Committee
    • Actively monitor existing investments in the portfolio
    • Build relationships with founders, sponsors, management teams and internal GS stakeholders

    Qualifications

    • 3+years of experience in investment banking, leverage finance or private credit roles, preferably in Asian markets
    • Strong academic record with Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Economics, Business Studies, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline from a distinguished academic institution
    • Strong quantitative, financial modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyze a variety of industries and businesses
    • Ability to self-direct, analyze and evaluate and form independent judgments
    • Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people
    • Proficiency in Korean or Mandarin a plus to cover client accounts in Korea and China
