Job summary

Recruit Express Services Pte Ltd is assisting a client in Singapore to hire for a permanent, full-time assembly and testing technician in Tuas (West). The role involves reading engineering drawings, assembling, testing, and ensuring traceability.

The factory operates 12-hour rotating day and night shifts in a non-air-conditioned workshop environment. The ideal candidate has a minimum diploma or certificate and 3–5 years of assembly/testing experience in manufacturing, preferably oil & gas.

• Able to read, converse and interpret English instructions.
• Capable of using test equipment to verify assembly and performance.

• Record traceability and maintain assembly maps; sign off on completion of work.
• Set up, operate and maintain workshop machinery, lifting gear and test equipment.
• Inspect and maintain tools; carry out housekeeping and 5S inspections.

About our client Our client is an established manufacturer of sand control screens and downhole completion equipment for the global oil & gas industry. Operating since 2003 to ISO 9001 and API Spec Q1 standards, it supplies a leading oilfield service company. Its products are used across South America, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.

Job details

• Location: Tuas (West)

• Salary: $2,500 – $4,500 per month, depending on experience

• Working hours: 12-hour rotating shifts – 8am to 8pm (day) / 8pm to 8am (night)

• Environment: Non-air-conditioned machine shop

• Employment: Permanent, full time

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, API and ISO standards

• Clean, lay out, assemble, disassemble and test equipment to standard

• Record traceability and maintain assembly maps; sign off on completion of work

• Set up, operate and maintain workshop machinery, lifting gear and test equipment

• Inspect and maintain tools; carry out housekeeping and scheduled 5S inspections

• Raise NCRs for non-conformances or process discrepancies

• Work with engineers on test set-ups and take part in Lean improvement projects

• Clock labour hours and complete job sheets correctly

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma or Certificate from a vocational, technical or engineering school

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of assembly and testing experience in a similar manufacturing industry; oil & gas preferred

• Able to read engineering drawings and use test equipment

• Able to read, converse and interpret instructions in English

• Able to work 12-hour rotating day and night shifts in a non-air-conditioned workshop\
