MAIN PURPOSE
The incumbent will drive overall Regulatory Affairs strategy and execution for the Companies in the region to ensure regulatory compliance. He/She will oversee Quality Management in the region to support Shiseido group quality. He/She will also work to enhance consumer relationships within the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
[Regulatory Affairs]
- Lead and guide a regional regulatory team to manage regulatory affairs for the Companies, including formula compliance, labeling compliance, and registration/notification compliance.
- Plan and execute short-term and long-term goals/objectives in the regulatory field to ensure marketing objectives are met.
- Supervise registration/notification of products by local affiliates and distributors to obtain approval for new products, and oversee the update and maintenance of existing product licenses.
- Monitor evolving regulations and assess their impact. Provide counsel to stakeholders and management on relevant courses of action. Lead advocacy efforts with local authorities to minimize business impact, in cooperation with industry associations.
- Provide accurate and timely support to local affiliates and distributors regarding regulatory inquiries from authorities, consumers, retailers, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure claim and advertisement compliance in cooperation with APIC, in response to inquiries from SAPAC Market, GIC, and other stakeholders.
- Report and share major regulatory issues with HQ monthly; immediate reporting is required for urgent or critical issues.
[Quality Management]
- Lead and guide a regional quality team to manage quality control, including handling consumer complaints related to health and quality.
- Plan and execute short-term and long-term quality objectives to support marketing goals.
- Provide support to local affiliates and distributors regarding quality inquiries from authorities, consumers, and retailers.
- Report major quality issues to HQ monthly; immediate reporting for urgent issues.
[Consumer Relationship]
- Update consumer-related policies and execution plans to enhance consumer relationships within the region.
- Support local affiliates with health and quality complaints from a technical and consumer relationship perspective.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum degree from a recognized tertiary institution, majoring in a relevant discipline.
- Preferably over 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs, ideally in the cosmetics/beauty industry.
- Possess cosmetic science or technical knowledge (ingredients, formulation, safety, efficacy).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in English.
- Willing and able to travel globally for business.
