Job summary

Argus Media is seeking an Editor to lead our Ferrous Metals Editorial team in Asia, guiding three editors and collaborating with Europe and the Americas. The role drives high-quality coverage, coordinates daily reports, and shapes the strategic direction of coking coal and iron ore reporting.

You will manage editors, edit news and analyses to deadline, and help expand access through webinars, white papers and events, with a strong Asia-Pacific focus.

Qualifications

• Strong editing and analysis skills with good news judgment.
• Proven writing and editing capabilities for high-value analysis.
• Grounding in commodities, preferably metals, but other commodities welcome.
• Experience managing and training editorial teams is ideal.
• Ability to represent coverage externally at conferences and client meetings.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with industry executives.
• Strong English writing, grammar and numeracy.
• Leadership, time management and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Excel for data handling and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee prices assessment, edit news, commentaries and analysis to deadline.
• Lead daily and monthly reports with global editors and business teams.
• Oversee production of daily PDFs and monthly iron ore/steel reports.
• Propose ways to develop coverage and expand contacts with journalistic integrity.
• Raise profile of the report through conferences, webinars and white papers.
• Guide the team’s coverage and coach less-experienced reporters.
• Maintain market understanding via trader, broker and investor contacts.
• Collaborate with ferrous metals teams in Asia and the US.
• Produce and oversee prices, market analysis, news and reports.
• Explain complex issues with charts/graphics and curate data sets.
• Oversee PDFs; represent Argus at events and with clients.
• Provide subject-matter expertise to other divisions; interact with Business Development.
