Job summary

SCIENTE seeks an experienced AS400 Developer to lead end-to-end enhancements and support for IBM AS400/iSeries platforms. You will work on RPGLE/SQLRPGLE, CLLE, DB2/400, and related technologies, collaborating with business users and IT teams to deliver reliable solutions.

The role covers analysis, design, development, SIT/UAT, production support, and release activities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years hands-on AS400/iSeries development and support.
• Proficient in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, DB2/400, Query/400, DDS, Subfiles, Embedded SQL.
• Experience in technical analysis, impact assessment, solution design, development and enhancements.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, production implementation and defect resolution.
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, batch processing, job scheduling, system integrations, release management and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with code reviews, documentation, deployment planning and change management/version control.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of AS400 application enhancements and projects, including impact analysis, estimation, solution design, development, and implementation;
• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain AS400 applications using RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400;
• Coordinate SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, deployment, migration, and post-production verification;
• Work closely with business users, PMs, BAs, infrastructure teams, and vendors to translate requirements into technical solutions;
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, ensure development quality, and manage technical risks and dependencies;
• Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement permanent fixes, and support scheduled or emergency releases;
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment plans, test support materials, and production handover documentation.

Mandatory Skill-set

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IBM AS400/iSeries development and support;
• Strong expertise in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, DB2/400, Query/400, DDS, Subfiles, and Embedded SQL;
• Experience in technical analysis, impact assessment, solution design, development, and application enhancements;
• Strong experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, production implementation, and defect resolution;

Desired Skill-set

• Banking, financial services, retail, payments, cards, loans, deposits, or core banking application experience;
