Job description

The Art Therapist will deliver art therapy services to patients across various age groups—including children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly—who are experiencing mental health challenges. These sessions may be conducted individually or in groups, and can take place in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and manage patients referred for art therapy or psychotherapy, applying appropriate evidence-based interventions.

• Operate within the bounds of professional competence and seek supervision or collaboration with other healthcare professionals when necessary.

• Maintain clear, accurate, and prompt communication with relevant stakeholders.

• Manage more complex cases that require specialized therapeutic expertise.

• Ensure timely and precise documentation of patient records.

• Support the development of resources and materials for art therapy programs, particularly for ward-based group sessions.

• Monitor and uphold clinical and service standards, ensuring the Art Therapy/Psychology unit consistently meets performance targets.

• Adhere to professional codes of conduct, ethics, and relevant legislation, maintaining the integrity and reputation of both the profession and the organization.

Job Requirements:

• Master Degree in Art Therapy from an accredited university.

• Registered or eligible to register with Art Therapists' Association Singapore (ATAS).

• Knowledge of treatment using art therapy in the hospital and psychiatric setting will be an added advantage.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
