We’re looking for an Art Director who can turn a strong idea into an experience people want to step into, engage with and remember.
Working across FriedRice Entertainment and FriedRice Experience, you’ll shape the creative direction of live events, immersive experiences, exhibitions and brand activations. You’ll connect storytelling, visual identity and physical space, carrying each concept from the pitch through to execution.
Reporting to the Head of Creative, you’ll lead project-level art direction and guide designers, freelancers and production partners.
Key responsibilities
- Develop creative concepts, visual narratives and art direction for experiential projects.
- Translate briefs and audience insights into moodboards, concept decks, key visuals and audience journeys.
- Create a coherent visual language across physical environments, digital campaigns, signage, merchandise and screen content.
- Guide graphic, spatial and motion designers to ensure every touchpoint supports the central idea.
- Present creative proposals and explain design decisions to internal stakeholders, clients and partners.
- Collaborate with producers, fabricators and technical teams to balance creative ambition with budgets, timelines and site constraints.
- Review artwork, material samples, mock-ups and installations for quality and consistency.
- Work within brand and licensed-IP guidelines, coordinating approvals with relevant stakeholders.
- Mentor designers and provide clear, constructive feedback.
- Support site visits and on-site creative supervision when required.
What we’re looking for
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in experiential design, events, exhibitions, brand activation or an integrated creative agency, including experience directing others.
- A strong portfolio showing both original concepts and completed physical experiences.
- Excellent skills in visual storytelling, typography, composition and branding.
- An understanding of spatial design, visitor flow, environmental graphics, materials and production methods.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and presentation tools.
- Ability to brief and assess 3D visualisation and motion work; hands-on capability is an advantage.
- Confidence presenting ideas, managing feedback and leading multiple projects.
- A practical understanding of designing for different audiences and markets.
- Willingness to attend installations and events, including occasional evenings, weekends and regional travel.
- Open to candidates in SG, KL & BKK.
