Job Title: Architectural Assistant

An Architectural Assistant plays a crucial role in the field of architecture and design, assisting HOD/Directors, senior architectural designer, project managers, and other team members in the planning, design, and execution of architectural projects. Their responsibilities may vary depending on the specific firm or project, but the following job description provides a general overview of the role:

Job Description:

1. Design Support:

  • Collaborate with HOD, senior architects and project managers to develop and refine design concepts.
  • Create and update architectural drawings, plans, and 3D models using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or other design tools.
  • Assist in the development of schematic designs, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Contribute to the creation of design presentations for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.

2. Research and Documentation:

  • Conduct research on materials, building codes, zoning regulations, and design trends.
  • Compile and organize project-related documents, including site reports, construction documents, and specifications.
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date project library for reference.

3. Technical Assistance:

  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details.
  • Ensure that designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and consultants to integrate structural, mechanical, and electrical systems into the design.

4. Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain effective communication with team members, and contractors.
  • Attend meetings and participate in discussions to ensure the design intent is realized during the construction phase.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to resolve design issues and modifications as they arise.

5. Quality Control:

  • Review and quality-check drawings and documents to ensure accuracy and completeness before sending out to HOD.
  • Assist in the identification and resolution of design and construction issues.
  • Contribute to the overall quality and consistency of design work produced by the firm.

6. Project Management:

  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Track project progress and assist in managing project timelines.
