Job description

Architect Job Description

The Architect is the subject matter expert within the Project Engineering Team, playing a vital role in planning, reviewing design and permitting deliverables. They work closely with our company's appointed design firms and stakeholders to support the overall construction phase of our Singapore plant, a greenfield project start-up. This role involves supporting design work based on project requirements and assisting in gathering necessary documents for contracting and procurement.

  1. Coordinate design reviews with relevant stakeholders and oversee architectural responsibilities, reporting directly to the Construction Director.
  2. Support the construction phase by coordinating between the project team and design interfaces to ensure effective communication and timely updates. Liaise with Structural and M&E Coordinators to ensure shop drawings are issued and troubleshooting is provided to meet project milestones.
  3. Administer and direct all architectural engineering and design work in accordance with the Project Execution Plans.
  4. Assist in shop drawing reviews and provide cost-effective, operationally feasible design proposals.
  5. Handle tender queries based on architectural expertise.
  6. Coordinate with Permitting and Qualified Persons (QP) to ensure timely delivery of architectural documents.
  7. Draft waivers and identify technical and permitting discrepancies through risk analysis and management.
  8. Collaborate with architects, design consultants, and contractors on technical issues.
  9. Oversee documentation and tendering processes.
  10. Translate design intent from the design firm to relevant stakeholders, acting as the main conduit between Design and Construction.
  11. Prepare technical specifications to support procurement packages.
  12. Support architectural design work in compliance with the Building Control Act.
  13. Verify and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of drawings produced by design firms and contractors, aligning with the Project Master Program.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture (recognized by the Board of Architects, Singapore).
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in Pharmaceutical or Industrial sectors.
  • Expertise in local Singapore permitting requirements is essential.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom architecture and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) areas.
  • Good knowledge of Buildability and Green Mark standards.
  • Familiarity with Singapore Building Codes and Regulations.
  • Technical skills in 3D Design and 2D Drafting software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks.
