Job summary

Wilmar International is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to advance enterprise AI capabilities across operations, supply chain, finance, and corporate functions in Singapore. You will implement Generative AI and LLM-powered applications from concept to production.

Responsibilities include building end-to-end LLM apps, RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, AI-assisted coding, and MLOps, with strict adherence to security and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 4–7 years of software engineering experience, with 2–3+ years building and shipping applied ML/AI solutions to production.
• Deep expertise building end-to-end LLM applications — agentic workflows, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and prompt engineering.
• Strong programming proficiency (Python preferred) with hands-on experience across GenAI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Solid foundation integrating LLMs with external tools (APIs, databases) to build autonomous systems.
• Full-stack awareness with experience productionizing ML/AI models — API development, containerization, cloud platforms, and CI/CD.
• Hands-on daily experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor).
• Solid understanding of data pipelines, vector databases, and software engineering best practices.
• Fluency in English (spoken and written); Proficiency in Mandarin is required for China stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement applied AI solutions (LLM applications, RAG pipelines, intelligent automation) from concept to production.
• Build, evaluate, and optimize prompts, retrieval pipelines, and agentic workflows using modern AI frameworks.
• Integrate AI capabilities into enterprise systems and applications with engineers and business stakeholders.
• Apply AI-assisted coding tools in delivery work and share learnings with peers.
• Ensure solutions meet security, data governance, and code-governance guardrails.
• Contribute to enablement sessions and knowledge-sharing led by the AI Platform Lead.
• Build evaluation harnesses to measure model accuracy, latency, cost, and safety; iterate based on results.
• Operationalize models — deployment, monitoring, versioning, and lifecycle management (MLOps/LLMOps).
• Support junior engineers informally on delivery questions and translate requirements into working solutions.
