Responsibilities
- Set up and configure bare‑metal, virtualized, or cloud infrastructure for business applications.
- Help development teams onboarding to modern CI/CD pipelines.
- Improve high availability, resilience, observability, maintainability and security of applications with industry standards and/or company solutions.
- Automate application releases, deployment, configuration, and other aspects of the software development life cycle.
- Enable connectivity between various components in distributed networks.
- Help migrate and upgrade systems to newer infrastructure.
- Conduct feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, and applications development tasks.
- Monitor and control all phases of the development process and provide user and operational support to business users.
- Utilize in‑depth specialty knowledge of application development to analyze complex problems and provide evaluation and judgment.
- Recommend and develop security measures in post‑implementation analysis.
- Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues and recommend advanced programming solutions.
- Define operating standards and processes and ensure essential procedures are followed.
- Serve as advisor or coach to lower‑level analysts.
- Operate with limited direct supervision, exercising independence of judgment and autonomy. Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- 5‑7 years of relevant experience in Engineering DevOps.
- Unix/Linux system administration skills at a system administration level.
- Strong knowledge of computer networks and hands‑on troubleshooting experience.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as bash, perl, python, or powershell.
- Some experience with Java build tools (Gradle or Maven preferred) and databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL preferred).
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Jenkins, TeamCity, Artifactory).
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture, microservices, and virtualization techniques.
- Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to tackle hard issues and get hands dirty.
- Ability to plan and organize workload.
- Ability to work independently, multi‑task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices (change/incident management) is a plus.
- Experience with messaging middleware such as Tibco, Solace, or Kafka is a plus.
- Experience with any programming language (Java, Python, Go, etc.) is a plus.
Recommended Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
- Working knowledge of consulting or project management techniques and methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree, university degree, or equivalent experience.
