Job description

Charles River Development (CRD) is a rapidly growing and profitable financial software and services firm operating as part of State Street. It is integral to the Alpha product set. Our customers include top investment management, wealth management, banking, and insurance firms.

The Application Support Engineer provides operational and application support to CRD customers and internal teams to minimize incidents and prevent recurrence of issues.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Deliver escalation services for complex CRIMS technical, functional, and operational issues.
  • Provide deep CRIMS, domain, and infrastructure experience with advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Handle sensitive situations affecting customer perception of CRD support.
  • Use management-level thinking to assess situations and see the bigger picture.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering quarterly to address operational issues and prioritize NFRs.
  • Package issues and information for efficient escalation to Engineering or Management.
  • Act as the entry point for new product deployment in SaaS infrastructure and provide feedback on deployment and operational issues.
General Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in the Financial/Software Services industry, preferably with financial market information systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience with the Charles River application.
  • Proven ability to partner with internal departments to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Successful client management and support record.
  • Knowledge of Front, Middle, and Back Office operations, and instrument types such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, FX.
  • Ability to engage with C-Level management using a hands-on approach.
  • Understanding of multi-tier architectures, relational databases, SQL, FIX, Crystal Reports, messaging, and web services is a plus.
  • Exposure to structured programming languages.
  • Excellent customer service, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
