Job summary

QUESS ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore seeks an experienced professional to manage and operate the Axway API Gateway and related web services in a multi-region enterprise environment.

You will enforce security controls, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate with application teams and external partners to integrate services across on‑premise and cloud platforms. Responsibilities include configuring daily operations, monitoring performance, upgrading gateways, and ensuring compliance with security

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with hands-on Axway API Gateway experience.
• Experience with web service security including certificates, mutual-authentication, SSL.
• Experience in XML, XSL, WSDL, SOAP, REST, JSON, HTML, JavaScript.
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting SSL, LDAP, SSO.
• SOA concepts and Web Services experience.
• Designing and managing RESTful APIs in financial services (banking/fintech).
• API security standards OAuth2, JWT, mTLS and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience with microservices architecture and high-volume transaction processing.
• Familiarity with PSD2, KYC, AML regulatory/compliance considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage day-to-day operations of the Axway API Gateway systems.
• Monitor gateway performance and troubleshoot issues with application teams.
• Upgrade and deploy Axway API Gateway as needed; plan system upgrades.
• Collaborate with external 3rd parties to integrate their web services with the gateway.
• Enforce gateway security policies and educate web service developers on authentication mechanisms.
• Work with client and application teams to provide gateway services support.
• Configure and manage Axway Gateway systems over Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure).

Job description

This role is responsible for Application and operational support and of the Axway API Gateways, and web services access control environment. Additionally, this person is responsible for working with the data integration and application teams to understand their business requirements and provide operational and project support.

Job Description:

Configure and manage day-to-day operations of the enterprise Axway API Gateway systems

Monitor the gateway performance and troubleshoot issues with application teams

Problem isolation and resolution, with expectation that continuous improvement and enhancements are implemented

Upgrade the system website and self-service tools as needed

Deploy and upgrade the Axway API Gateway as needed

Perform system planning, installation and upgrades across our multi-region environment

Work with external 3rd parties to integrate their web services with the gateway

Work directly with client and application teams to provide gateway services support

Enforce gateway security policies

Aid and educate web service developers on use of authentication mechanisms and use of xml gateway

Configure and manage Axway API Gateway system over Cloud (i.e Azure etc.)

Mandatory skills

5+ years of experience in Software development, with hands-on expertise in Axway API Gateway.

Demonstrated experience with web service security including digital certificates (client and server), mutual-authentication, API Axway, SSL, WS-*Expertise in XML, XSL, WSDL, SOAP, REST, JSON, HTML, JavaScript

Experience implementing and troubleshooting SSL, LDAP, SSO

Experience with system configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance

Experience in Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts and Web Services

Strong experience designing, developing, and managing RESTful APIs within banking, insurance, or fintech environments.

Solid understanding of API security standards (OAuth2, JWT, mTLS) and integration patterns across enterprise systems.

Experience working with microservices architecture, system integrations, and high-volume transaction processing.

Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services (e.g., PSD2, KYC, AML) is a plus.
