Job description

Step into your next role as a key member of the Barclays Group Technology Service Management (GTSM) team. As an application support analyst, you will utilize a hybrid of development and operational skills to collaborate across disciplines, applying software engineering principles to eliminate manual effort (Toil) and create automated, scalable, and reliable services. You will contribute to initiatives in Operational engineering, Observability engineering, Service Risk engineering, and Resiliency engineering to ensure production stability and SLA adherence for our data consumers.

This role involves supporting Operations colleagues in three key Asia locations: Australia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. You will provide client-facing end-user tech support for technical infrastructure, including second-line support for end-user technology in Operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize issues, champion resolutions, and escalate appropriately within Barclays and externally with RBA.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

Essential skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in application support, preferably supporting payment systems
  • Understanding of settlement and payment processing business workflows
  • Knowledge of operating systems (UNIX, Linux, SQL, Windows) and scripting languages such as Python
  • Familiarity with high-level languages like C#, Java
  • Ability to apply technical skills across various trading platforms and technologies
  • Knowledge of Tradefloor end-user desktop environment
  • Experience in technology infrastructure analysis and troubleshooting

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Banking industry experience
  • Effective communication in English and Turkish
  • Advanced Excel/VBA skills and data analytics experience
  • Strong cybersecurity and compliance mindset
  • Knowledge of local regulatory systems and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
