Job summary

HORIBA INSTRUMENTS (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD is seeking an Application Engineer to drive growth for water quality monitoring products across Singapore and Southeast Asia. You will blend technical sales support, proofs of concept, and application development to meet market needs.

You will serve as the technical expert for water quality instruments, collaborating with customers, sales teams, service engineers, and R&D managers to translate requirements into innovative solutions and measurable benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Environmental and Water Quality Monitoring & Analytics.
• Strong technical knowledge of water quality systems, analytical instruments, or measurement technologies is an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-focused and solution-oriented mindset.
• Good project management and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the ASEAN region.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and technical report preparation.

We are looking for an Application Engineer responsible for driving the growth and technical success of HORIBA's water quality monitoring product portfolio across Singapore and Southeast Asia. The role combines technical sales support, proof of concept and application development.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical expert for water quality instruments and work closely with customers, sales teams, service engineers, and R&D managers to transform market requirements into innovative products and practical solutions for Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive pre-sales and post-sales technical support for water quality instrumentation, monitoring systems, and related solutions.
• Collaborate closely with the sales team and customers to understand operational challenges, identify measurement needs, and translate market requirements into product and application enhancements.
• Develop and implement application solutions tailored to the unique requirements of the Southeast Asian water and environmental sectors.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of next-generation water quality monitoring technologies for environmental, semiconductor, municipal water, industrial process, and laboratory applications.
• Conduct product demonstrations, feasibility studies, proof-of-concept (POC) evaluations, and field trials to validate new technologies and solutions.
• Troubleshoot customer application issues and provide technical recommendations to optimize system performance and measurement accuracy.
• Recommend suitable instrumentation, sensors, analyzers, and measurement technologies based on customer requirements and process conditions.
• Gather, analyze, and report market intelligence, customer feedback, sales activities, and business opportunities to the management team.
• Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and market trends related to both new and existing products.
• Perform competitive analysis and bench marking of competitor products, providing recommendations for product positioning and innovative solutions.
• Strengthen the company's reputation as a trusted technology partner by delivering high-quality technical expertise and customer support.
• Support product launches, technical training programs, trade exhibitions, industry workshops, seminars, and customer engagement activities.
• Serve as the technical liaison between customers, regional teams, and manufacturing facilities, coordinating technical discussions, product evaluations, quality investigations, and application reviews.
• Work closely with R&D, Product Management, Service, and Sales teams to drive product adoption, customer satisfaction, and business growth across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
• Travel within the region as required to support customer engagements, project implementation, and business development activities.

Responsibilities:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Environmental and Water Quality Monitoring & Analytics industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of water quality systems, analytical instruments, or measurement technologies is an advantage.
