Job summary

Henkel Singapore Pte Ltd. seeks a laboratory specialist to conduct lab testing, maintain equipment, and support root-cause analyses for product-related issues. You will prepare customer-facing reports and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role involves calibration, SOP development, and day-to-day lab operations, with a focus on accuracy, multi-tasking, and cross-functional collaboration across sales, engineering and marketing teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, materials science or relevant engineering/technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports internal and external technical requests and projects through performing lab testing.
• Completes customer testing requests and reports; supports root cause analysis and CAPA for product issues.
• Writes customer-facing reports for sales, application engineering, marketing, product development and project teams.
• Runs and maintains laboratory equipment; standardizes and harmonizes test methods; prepares SOPs and risk assessments.
• Manage the lab; ensure calibration and safety checks comply with local regulations.
• Assist in day-to-day lab operations, e.g., testing and inventory control of supplies.
• Maintain and upkeep laboratory records, inventories, SDS and safety documentation.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed and housekeeping is maintained.
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Job description

What you´ll do

• Supports internal and external technical requests and projects through performing lab testing
• Completes Customer Technical Testing Requests and Reports within the database or equivalent. Performs / supports completion of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Plan on all product related performance complaints
• Writes customer facing reports for the Field Sales/Application Engineering teams, Key Account Managers, Marketing, Product Development and Innovations or project team
• Runs and upkeeps laboratory equipment, leads/supports ongoing standardization, harmonization and administration of laboratory test methods, prepares SOP & risk assessment of lab operations/activities
• Manage the lab, ensures laboratory and application equipment are calibrated and safety checked in compliance with local regulations
• To assist in day-to-day laboratory operations e.g. arrangement for testing, inventory control of laboratory supplies and chemicals, lab consumables etc
• Maintain and upkeep laboratory records, including documentations for inventories, SDS and safety
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain good housekeeping
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned

What makes you a good fit

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Material Science, or relevant Engineering/technical discipline preferred.
• At least 3-5 year(s) of working experience in a related field, preferably with knowledge on adhesives and/or handling equipment such as DSC, TGA, TMA, SEM/EDX, EA Analysis and rheometer will be an added advantage
• Ability to multi-task, and work independently.
• Good analytical, presentation, communication and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge or experience of material property tests (DSC, DMA, TMA, TGA, Rheometer) or failure analysis methods (SEM, EDX, CSAM, ion-milling) is an advantage.
• Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
