Job summary

A leading transport service provider in Singapore is seeking a Backend Engineer to enhance applications related to WINK+. You will translate functional requirements into technical designs, participate in the application lifecycle, and manage AWS infrastructure. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Computer Science, has experience in backend development using Kotlin or Java, and is familiar with AWS and containerization tools. This position involves working independently and as part of a team to deliver quality projects on time.

Qualifications

• Experience working with Cloud Native Infrastructure, familiarity with AWS is a plus.
• Zero-to-one startup and scale-up experience is a plus.

Job Purpose

The key scope of work is to develop and enhance the existing applications relating to WINK+.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop existing applications relating to WINK+
• Translate functional requirements from users into sound technical designs that meet the objectives
• Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance
• Stay up-to-date with new technology trends
• Able to work both independently as well as with a team on multiple projects
• Participate in application development life cycle
• Deliver projects on-time and with quality
• Work with the team in managing AWS, cybersecurity, data integrity, etc

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus
• Experience working with Cloud Native Infrastructure (Familiarity with AWS is a plus)
• Candidates with zero-to-one startup and scale-up experience is a plus

Skills

• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin or Java for backend development.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, specifically AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.).
• Experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and container orchestration using Kubernetes.
