About the Job

Plan, procure, implement, manage and/or support Application Systems under one or more Business Domains (e.g., Resource & Scheduling, Exam Administration, Student Records), with the objective of fulfilling business needs and improving operational efficiencies of Business Departments using the Application Systems and/or solutions implemented.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning & Management
  • Lead market research and feasibility study
  • Plan the project
  • Procure the solution
  • Project manage the implementation
  • Facilitate transition to post-live support to ensure successful IT systems adoption at Business Departments to meet business objectives.
  • Service Management / User Engagement
  • Engage and advise Business Departments on IT matters (including projects) to help departments exploit IT to maximize business objectives.
  • Business Operation & Support
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and support of the business application systems
  • Manage service delivery of vendors
  • Support operations of the Business Departments (e.g., course registration, budget planning) to facilitate smooth and efficient university processes and activities.
  • Enhance Existing Application Systems
  • Identify areas of improvement
  • Gather, prioritize, and document business requirements
  • Estimate and negotiate man-effort with vendors
  • Lead/oversee the enhancements of business application systems
  • Manage quality of deliverables and performance of vendors to ensure timely delivery of enhancements supporting business needs.
  • General Responsibilities
  • Assist Supervisor in all other duties
  • Assist in the general administrative functions of the department.
Job Requirements
  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 8 years in the IT industry.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Certification in PMP or CITPM is an advantage.
  • Strong business process, analytical, systems, and design thinking skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with end users and vendors.
  • Experience in Vendor Management or similar roles.
  • Experience in Higher Education is a bonus.
  • Experience in Application Systems support and maintenance.
  • Good grasp of IT technologies, methodologies, architectures, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, RDBMS, and SQL.
  • Appreciation of cybersecurity best practices.
