Job summary

StarHub Ltd in Singapore is seeking a DevOps & Application Engineer to design, automate, and optimize the build-and-release ecosystem while ensuring the reliability, scalability and security of our cloud-native platforms. You will manage Kubernetes operations, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and contribute production-grade code across multiple languages.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and implementing DevOps pipelines, with emphasis on trunk-based development and CI gates.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes (EKS/OCP) and multi-cluster management.
• Proficient in scripting (Shell, Python, Groovy) for automation.

Responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies with trunk-based development.
• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins using Pipeline-as-Code.
• Write build scripts and IaC tooling to automate delivery.
• Administer multi-cluster Kubernetes environments including Helm, RBAC, and network policies.
• Implement GitOps workflows (Argo CD or Flux) for reproducible deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Build and maintain IaC (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Contribute application code in Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Establish observability with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch; manage incident workflows.
• Create technical docs and transfer knowledge to teams.
• Maintain Internal Developer Portal - Backstage

Role Mission

The DevOps & Application Engineer will design, automate, andoptimizethe build-and-release ecosystem while ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of StarHub’s cloud-native platforms. They will manage Kubernetes operations, infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, andGitOpsworkflows, while contributing production-grade application code across multiple languages. This role accelerates engineering velocity by driving DevOps best practices, strengthening observability, and enabling consistent, high-quality deployments across the IS Division.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and enforce DevOps policies and best practices, with a strong focus on trunk-based development (short-lived feature branches, continuous integration gates, automated code-quality checks).
• Design, develop, andmaintainCI/CD pipelines in Jenkins using Pipeline-as-Code (shared libraries, scripted & declarative).
• Write and manage build scripts and infrastructure tooling (Shell, Python, Groovy) to automate the software-delivery lifecycle.
• Administer multi-cluster Kubernetes environments (EKS & OCP), including Helm chart development, RBAC, network policies, and autoscaling.
• ImplementGitOpsworkflows (Argo CD or Flux) to promote reproducible, auditable deployments.
• Provision and manage AWS resources (EKS, RDS/PostgreSQL, EC2, S3, IAM).
• Build andmaintainInfrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).
• Contribute application code in Python, Go, or TypeScript,participatingin design reviews and performance profiling.
• Establishobservability with Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, and incident-response workflows (PagerDuty).
• Author technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
