A leading consulting firm in Singapore seeks a Trade Compliance Manager to oversee import/export operations across the AMEA region. Qualifications

Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert for daily import and export operations across the AMEA region, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearances with appointed brokers.
- Manage shipments through SAP GTS, including SPL block release, license management, and compliance reporting.
- Liaise with government agencies to resolve import/export holds and ensure smooth clearance processes.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate trade compliance risks while establishing and enforcing strong internal controls.
- Provide training on trade compliance for both internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to design and implement new compliance processes and initiatives across AMEA.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in trade regulations and customs laws across the region.
- Maintain accurate product trade data (ECCNs, HTS codes, Country of Origin, valuation, invoices) to support compliant and efficient customs clearance.
- Ensure proper recordkeeping and document management of import/export activities.
- Provide timely shipment status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in customs broker performance reviews and evaluations.
- Conduct internal audits, identify compliance gaps, and implement corrective actions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customs brokers, authorities, and cross-functional teams (Operations, Logistics, Commercial, Legal, Tax, etc.).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Logistics, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Over 8 years of experience in import/export operations, with emphasis on trade compliance and logistics.
- In-depth knowledge of Singapore customs regulations, along with hands-on experience in Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Australian trade regulations.
- Strong understanding of US and APJ export control requirements.
- Proficient in HTS code classification across the AMEA/APAC region.
- Experience working with SAP ECC functionalities.
