Description du poste

Corporate Communications handles media relations, executive communications, policy and legal comms, crisis and issues management, and company-wide messaging on topics at the center of public debate, including AI, regulation, product changes, and fast-moving news cycles.

This is high-stakes, fast-turn work. We navigate competing stakeholders, tight deadlines, and intense public scrutiny to set a coherent narrative and protect the company's reputation. You will partner with product, policy, legal, and regional teams to translate complicated, highly visible issues into narratives that hold up with the press, policymakers, and the public.

We're looking for a communications professional with extensive experience in tech and policy, to become a senior member of the global corporate communications team. This role will lead corporate and policy communications across APAC markets, shaping the company's narrative in the region and serving as a key strategic partner to the Global Head of Corporate Communications across a wide spectrum of issues, spanning regulatory and geopolitical affairs, platform safety and data security, financial communications, data infrastructure, people and culture, and crisis and reputation management. The role will support regulatory engagement and amplify initiatives that showcase platform integrity, youth safety, and responsible corporate citizenship.

The candidate should have a proven ability to distill and communicate complex regulatory, geopolitical and tech policy issues with clarity and precision, and be adept at developing and driving broader corporate and technology narratives, with a sharp understanding of the political and regulatory landscape across key APAC markets. The individual will have a keen grasp of the political and regulatory landscape across key global markets, and support regulatory actions and amplify initiatives designed to educate and showcase platform security, integrity and youth safety. This person will manage geographically diverse policy comms teams and work collaboratively with cross-functional partners and other communications teams, including APAC regional comms and Trust and Safety Communications.

In addition to policy-related work, this role will oversee corporate communications on financial-related matters; digital infrastructure, issues related to HR, employees, and corporate culture, ensuring the company's positioning is consistent, credible, and aligned across audiences from regulators and media to employees and the public.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned, thoughtful communicator, who thrives in high-stakes media and issues environments. They bring strong leadership skills, intellectual curiosity, and an entrepreneurial mindset - able to connect the dots across disparate issues, operate with ease across global teams and time zones, and maintain composure and sound judgment. A people-first leader, they will bridge regional teams and global hubs to ensure alignment, trust, and flawless execution of strategic priorities. Highly organized and detail-oriented, they combine strategic vision with operational discipline.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive strategic communications plans and programs that advance policy and broader business priorities and narratives, including reactive and proactive media communications and outreach.
  • Closely coordinate with TikTok's government relations teams in the region to keep abreast of policy and regulatory developments that affect our business, and build issue-specific playbooks.
  • Develop and execute overarching companywide communications strategies to promote the company’s overall vision as well as alignment of key business initiatives and objectives.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Global Head of Corporate Communications, developing communication strategies and messaging to promote and protect the company and its corporate reputation, priorities and interests.
  • Play a key role in all crisis communications activities, developing response strategies and relevant messaging that can be used across businesses, functions and regions. Implement proactive measures and rapid response protocols to address emerging issues effectively.
  • Collaborate on speeches, briefing documents, and executive positioning aligned to key company narratives.
  • Engage routinely with media/press to ensure accurate coverage of TikTok’s businesses, activities and industry-leading commitment to online safety, youth safety and data security.
  • Work in close collaboration with global policy, safety, technology and regional comms teams to ensure message accuracy, consistency, and alignment of messaging with global counterparts.
  • Drive or assist with the creation of written materials (i.e. position papers, blog posts, social media updates) to support TikTok's policy objectives.
  • Train and advise GR team members as company spokespeople as required
Minimum Qualification(s):
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in corporate communications, public relations, or public affairs communications, including significant experience in the technology sector.
  • 3+ years experience leading communications across multiple APAC markets, including responsibility for regional communications strategy, media engagement, and corporate narrative development.
  • Strong press office experience, including media relations and crisis/issue management, with a track record of managing high-stakes communications and protecting corporate reputation across multiple markets or jurisdictions.
  • Experience working in or with technology, internet, or digital platforms, with exposure to technology policy, platform governance, online safety, trust and safety, data security, or technology regulation.
  • Regional stakeholder engagement experience, including cross-functional collaboration with at least three of the following teams: Trust & Safety, Policy, Legal, Product, Public Policy, or Government Relations; and experience advising senior executives on strategic communications.
