Are you a seasoned operations leader with a passion for delivering excellence in a dynamic, fast-paced investment environment? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to lead Middle Office Operations for the APAC region, supporting trade desks across Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Sydney. This is a strategic role based in Singapore and offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with global teams and drive operational excellence across markets.

The Role

You will be responsible for overseeing and managing regional middle office operations, ensuring seamless trade support and operational efficiency across multiple time zones. The role requires daily interaction with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including portfolio managers, compliance teams, legal, outsourced vendors, custodian banks, and brokers.

As a key member of the operations leadership team, you will contribute to global initiatives, drive process improvements, and provide mentorship to junior team members. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the APAC Middle Office team to support all regional trading activities
  • Act as regional liaison for global operations teams across EMEA and the US
  • Oversee outsourced back-office vendor performance (KPI/SLA management)
  • Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders such as brokers and custodians
  • Coordinate with change management and support new initiatives from APAC trade desks
  • Produce and analyze operational metrics and reports for senior management
  • Support onboarding of new brokers and market access expansion
  • Participate in client due diligence meetings and regional/global industry initiatives
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior team members

Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial services, with strong expertise in trade operations
  • Prior experience in people and project management
  • Deep knowledge of fixed income, equities, FX, and derivatives
  • Familiarity with EM Asia markets and related documentation (ISDA, GMRA, MSFTA)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work across regions and time zones
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills – a collaborative team player and strategic communicator
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; experience with Bloomberg trade systems and reporting tools is a plus
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting required; postgraduate qualifications are a plus
