An environmental solutions leader in Singapore is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety / Quality System Leader to ensure compliance and oversee quality management systems across the APAC region. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in EHS roles, strong leadership and communication skills, and a passion for fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years EHS experience in both manufacturing and field service operations.

Job description
Responsibilities

The APAC Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) / Quality System Leader will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the APAC region, be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems to ensure organizational compliance and continuous improvement, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

This critical role has the following key accountabilities:

  • Grow the corporate EHS culture by fostering learning, EHS leadership and continuous improvement
  • Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives
  • Integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the zone
  • Influence the business strategy of the organization
  • Accelerate the successful commercialization of products, projects & services
  • Value chain thinking to increase the maturity of EHS processes
  • Cross-functionally to synchronize EHS with core end-to-end business processes
  • Translates concepts, develops strategy, and implements change across all EHS subject areas
  • Participates in hiring, on-boarding, mentoring and coaching of plant, site and field EHS staff
  • Travel to fixed facilities and customer sites to audit and provide on-site assistance on technical subjects
  • Identifies trends and drives corrective action to completion across all the sites
  • Develop and manage EHS programs at customer sites in APAC region and ensure oversight for the same on all fixed facilities in the region
  • Develop, conduct, and coordinate effective EHS training
  • Work closely with operations to drive implementation of programs to ensure all federal and local EHS regulatory and WTZ management system requirements are met
  • Support remote site managers in use of compliance tracking programs and WTZ EHS management systems
  • Conduct and/or validate accident investigations to determine root cause and proactive solutions
  • Work closely with Projects team to identify and address EHS issues related to equipment and site design, installation, and commissioning
  • Develops regional EHS council for best practice sharing on EHS concerns & incidents, aligns regional EHS celebrations, communications & rewards with the WTZ EHS programs
  • Support EHS assessment of new service offerings as needed
  • Develop and maintain quality policies, procedures, and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct internal audits and managing external audits
  • Train staff on quality procedures and best practices
  • Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs
  • Analyze quality metrics and preparing reports for management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes
  • Lead quality investigations and root cause analysis
  • Oversee document control systems
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering or other science discipline
  • At least 10 years EHS experience, in both manufacturing and field service operations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, ability to respect and to deal with a diverse team
  • Excellent leadership skills - Build the team into a dedicated and enthusiastic unit
  • Strong communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations in English
