Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) Singapore is seeking an APAC Data Governance Operationalisation Lead to drive adoption of Data Governance practices across the region. You will identify critical data, establish ownership, and embed governance into day-to-day operations, coordinating with business, risk, finance, regulatory reporting and technology stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or Risk Data.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale governance initiatives.
• Experience implementing BCBS239 in financial services.
• Ability to lead regional programmes with multi-country stakeholders.
• Knowledge of Data Ownership and Data Stewardship models.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC Data Governance Operationalisation across entities.
• Establish governance processes embedded in BAU operations.
• Drive adoption of governance standards across functions.
• Coordinate with risk, finance, regulatory reporting and technology.
• Manage onshore, offshore and consulting teams.
• Prepare executive updates and governance materials.
