Job summary

ByteDance PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced data center design professional to lead technical planning for Asia Pacific builds.

You will collaborate across internal teams and external providers to ensure compliant, efficient designs for data center infrastructure and data halls. The role requires strong knowledge of power and cooling, redundancy, and mission-critical building design, with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant large-scale data center or mission-critical building design experience.
• Understanding of power and cooling calculations and redundancy concepts.
• Preferred: Chartered/Professional Engineer certification.
• Preferred: experience with electrical/liquid-cooling technologies.

Responsibilities

• Support data center site selection through technical compliance evaluation of design submissions.
• Collaborate with external providers and internal SMEs for design reviews of critical systems.
• Ensure specific requirements are incorporated into data center infrastructure design and data hall fit-out.
• Participate in regular follow-up of data center construction and fit-out.
• Involvement in testing and commissioning of critical systems and handover to operations.
• Collaborate with data center operations and provide ongoing support.
• Support local operation team for trouble-shooting and optimizing design standards.
• Work with design team on localisation of data center standards and equipment specs.
• Support Ad-Hoc project management tasks as assigned.
