The Public Service Division is seeking a candidate to join the Energy Connections Office in the Projects & Partnerships branch. The Energy Connections Office (ECO) is tasked to facilitate around 6GW of low‑carbon electricity imports into Singapore by 2035, or about one‑third of our energy demand then. You will join a dynamic and multi‑disciplinary team tasked to facilitate imports into Singapore and regional grid interconnections. Specifically, you will join the Projects & Partnerships (PP) branch in ECO.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Negotiating with interested companies on their proposals, and evaluating such proposals to meet our requirements for energy security, competitiveness and sustainability.
Facilitating the development and ensuring the timely delivery of promising electricity imports projects.
Engaging overseas government bodies to secure G2G support for cross‑border electricity trading.
Requirements:
Keen interest in energy transition issues and passion for the public service.
Excited about learning new things, comfortable with navigating ambiguity, challenging the status quo, and willing to speak up and put forward new solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills to engage and collaborate with stakeholders
Excellent verbal communication, analytical and critical thinking skills, and prepared to deep‑dive into relevant subject areas.
Prior experience in electricity trading, industry engagement and project management preferred
Prepared to travel overseas for work frequently
