Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and self-reliant Machining Technician (2) to support the precision machining of complex components using both conventional and advanced CNC equipment. You will be responsible for interpreting detailed engineering drawings, performing independent machine setups, and executing machining operations on CNC Milling (3, 4 & 5-Axis), Turn-Mill (TMD), and Conventional Turning machines. This role requires proficiency in G-code programming, tool presetting, and advanced machining strategies to meet tight tolerances and quality standards.

If you have a strong foundation in multi-axis machining, take pride in precision, and enjoy working in a fast-paced production environment, we’d like to meet you.

Drawing Interpretation
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine machining requirements and setup.
  • Select appropriate tools and fixtures and apply drawing interpretation to execute machining tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, including the ability to identify inconsistencies or errors.
Machine Setup & Operation

CNC Milling (3-Axis) and Conventional Milling (Con-M)

  • Perform final cuts on complex parts with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Set up workpieces for machining operations in accordance with part specifications.
  • Conduct tool setup using a tool presetter to ensure precision and reduce setup time.

Conventional Turning (Con-T)

  • Operate conventional turning machines to perform ID/OD turning, grooving, facing, and threading operations.
  • Maintain part accuracy and surface finish within tight tolerances.
  • Execute precision turning processes to meet critical specifications.

CNC Milling (4 & 5-Axis) / Turn-Mill (TMD)

  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines and turn-mill centers for complex part machining.
  • Follow advanced machining strategies to meet stringent dimensional and surface finish requirements.
G-code Programming
  • Able to do programming independently on CNC Milling (3, 4 & 5-Axis) machines.
Quality Inspection & Maintenance
  • Conduct in-process inspections using vernier callipers and micrometres to ensure dimensional accuracy.
  • Measure and verify completed workpieces before proceeding to the next process or workstation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal functionality and reduce unplanned downtime.
Who are we looking for?
