Job description

Deloitte Forensic is the leading forensic practice in Singapore and Southeast Asia, advising local, regional, and global clients in areas such as Disputes, Discovery, Forensic Analytics, Forensic Investigations (including fraud, corruption, and misconduct), and Financial Crime Advisory.

Role and Responsibilities

As an Analyst, you will be involved in various projects, including:

  1. Working with team leads to deliver high-quality, professional day-to-day engagement execution in line with the firm's risk management practices across diverse industries.
  2. Analyzing large, disparate data sets to support or refute facts and allegations in disputes, investigations, and litigations.
  3. Contributing to AML projects through data preparation, model design, development, implementation, documentation, and ongoing validation and optimization of rules and scenarios.
  4. Helping clients assess and leverage new data sources, techniques, and technologies to improve business processes and compliance.
  5. Providing impactful recommendations on clients’ operating models, including considerations related to people, processes, technology, and data.
  6. Maintaining professional and positive client interactions, including support and handling ad-hoc queries.
  7. Supporting projects across other Deloitte Forensic service lines as needed.
  8. Staying updated with forensic accounting news, technical, and regulatory developments to contribute to personal and team growth.
  9. Supporting managers/directors in developing marketing collateral, business proposals, and new solutions or methodologies.
  10. Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external strategic service providers.

Requirements

  • A university degree in accounting, computer science, information management, or related fields.
  • Fluency and demonstrable experience in at least three of the following technical areas:
    • Data manipulation and analysis skills (e.g., SQL, R, Python, Hive, SAS).
    • Experience with industry-standard RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL).
    • Database design and development (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2).
    • Data loading and ETL solutions (e.g., Microsoft SSIS, IBM DataStage).
    • Reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft SSRS, Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, D3).
    • Scripting or programming experience (e.g., C#, VB.NET, Java, Python).
    • Experience with text analytics, including taxonomies, concept searching, machine learning, or clustering.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to perform deep analytics and contribute to strategic discussions.
  • A proactive attitude, sense of urgency, and confidence to build problem-solving partnerships with clients and colleagues, with the ability to set and manage ambitious goals.
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analyses and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives.
  • Strong writing skills for proposals and deliverables.
  • Accounting knowledge is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a willingness to teach others.
