Job summary

HarbourVest is a leading independent global private markets firm with a client-focused culture. It seeks a service-oriented Analyst to support client engagement and partner with Account Managers to deliver excellent client experience.

The role involves building relationships, understanding client needs, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of requests. A BA or equivalent and 1–3 years in financial services are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 1-3 years financial services experience in client service/operations (Analyst level).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong external and internal relationships.
• Listen, understand, and appropriately respond to clients' needs.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver on client requirements and ensure excellent client experience.
• Partner with Account Managers to support client engagement and establish clear communication channels.
• Proactively assist with workload rebalancing and high-priority items and collaborate with colleagues in other regions.
• Triage and respond to requests and inquiries accurately and timely following workflow and standard processes.
• Coordinate delivery of recurring requests to drive proactive and timely service.
• Think and act quickly, analytically, and creatively to determine solutions for client needs.
• Handle and complete requests based on type and complexity, including independent completion, engaging functional teams, or coordinating responses among teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Service Support (90%)
  • Build and maintain strong external and internal relationships.

• Client Relationship Management (10%)
  • Assist Account Manager(s) with existing client engagements by providing insight and raising potential areas of concern.
  • Assist with prospective clients by sharing information about the client service model and the service team.
  • Participate in calls or meetings with prospective clients as part of the Account Team.

What You Bring

• Highly organized self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong client relationship/management skills.
• Familiarity with investment concepts and high level of comfort with numbers and analysis.
• Excellent written, comprehension, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical skills and familiarity with business process technology and Salesforce a plus.

• Great teammate within and across functional teams and all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or equivalent experience.
• 1-3 years financial services experience in client service or operations capacity preferred (Analyst level).
