Analyst/ Associate, Reconciliation Operations (Deposits & Unsecured Lending), Consumer Banking Group Operations

Business Function: Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform comprehensive reconciliation of deposits, cards and unsecured loans reconciliation, including investigation of breaks, managing General Ledger (GLAO) certification process, ensuring timely tracking of GL outages and resolutions with prompt escalation & reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to Management.
  2. Assume full responsibility for the GLAO certification process, ensuring adherence to timelines and meticulous tracking of all GL outages.
  3. Identify operational risks and implement measures to address/mitigate the risk.
  4. Develop and implement innovative and comprehensive mitigation strategies to minimize potential financial impacts arising from reconciliation, including the design and execution of robust risk monitoring & reporting frameworks.
  5. Challenge status quo and execute changes in an effective manner, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through active team engagement and the implementation of innovative digitization and automation strategies.
  6. Drive innovation, re-engineer reconciliation and investigation processes to achieve process standardization and improvement in controls.
  7. Collaborate widely to establish & maintain effective relationships and work closely with various stakeholders to understand the Business/Operations problem statement, propose analytic requirements and solution.
  8. Leverage on internal and external data and use analytics techniques to provide data-driven insights, re-engineer and eliminate existing process frictions in realizing Design-For-No-Ops strategy.
  9. Develop compelling data visualizations and presentations to communicate complex analytical findings, drive productivity improvements, pinpoint root causes of operational issues, and deliver actionable recommendations to key stakeholders.
  10. Define comprehensive user requirements, execute rigorous User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and live verification processes, and ensure the seamless implementation and operational stability of all initiatives and production fixes.
  11. Support Area Manager and lead project/initiatives, engage team on process improvements.
  12. Ensure timely updates of SOPs/process maps & prompt communication to team.
Requirements
  1. Degree in Accounting, Banking or related field.
  2. Minimum 3-5 years in banking or financial services with strong background in reconciliation and settlement process.
  3. Demonstrated expertise in optimizing business systems and processes, with a proven track record of success in reconciliation and settlement operations.
  4. Proven experience in business systems and processes especially in areas of Consumer Debit/Credit cards, Current/Saving accounts and/or Reconciliation & Settlement.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, stakeholders, senior management and internal staff.
  6. Strong knowledge in MS Office tools such as Words, Excel, PowerPoint and ability to demonstrate good understanding in Accounting principles and applications such as GLAO, PSGL and tools used in reconciliation operations.
  7. Proven ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data to derive actionable insights and provide data-driven recommendations.
  8. Analytical mindset with the ability to critically examine, analyze data and identify process improvement opportunities.
  9. Must be of sufficient maturity, confidence and experience to be able to independently engage Tech Support & stakeholders on project related matters as well as to escalate and articulate issues and proposed resolutions.
  10. Meticulous with strong analytical skills and pro-active in solving problems.
