Job summary

Medlink Healthcare Group recruits an Ambulance Driver to operate our ambulances for transporting patients to medical appointments, hospitals, and other facilities. Qualifications

• Valid Class 3 driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Experience in defensive driving is highly preferred.
• Certification or experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently drive MHG ambulances to transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other facilities.
• Respond promptly to ad-hoc emergency and non-emergency cases as required.
• Assist medical personnel in loading and unloading patients, ensuring comfort and safety during transport.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of the ambulance to ensure good working condition.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety protocols, and MHG procedures to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate records of trips and patient information as required by MHG policies.
• Provide basic assistance and support to patients during transport with empathy and professionalism.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills including defensive driving and emergency response.
• Take on secondary appointments or administrative duties as assigned by management.
• Perform other related tasks as required by management.

JOB OVERVIEW

As an Ambulance Driver at Medlink Healthcare Group (MHG), you will be a key member of our Emergency and Medical Transport team. Your primary role will involve operating MHG’s ambulances to facilitate the safe and efficient transportation of patients. This includes managing scheduled patient transfers, hospital discharges, and responding to emergency and non-emergency ad-hoc cases. You will play a vital role in ensuring timely and professional service to patients and their families.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely and efficiently drive MHG ambulances to transport patients to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.
• Respond promptly to ad-hoc emergency and non-emergency cases as required.
• Assist medical personnel in loading and unloading patients from the ambulance, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the journey.
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of the ambulance to ensure it is in good working condition, including fuel, cleanliness, and necessary equipment.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and MHG operational procedures to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and the public.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, patient information, and other relevant data as required by MHG policies.
• Provide basic assistance and support to patients as needed during transport, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills, including defensive driving, emergency response, and medical assistance.
• Take on secondary appointments or administrative duties when assigned by management.
• Perform other related tasks as required by the management team.

Overtime pay will be tabulated based on MOM requirements of 1.5 x of the Base Salary, and will be made known to the employee during the interview process.

REQUIREMENTS

• Possess a valid Class 3 driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience.
• Previous experience in defensive driving is highly preferred.
• Certification or experience as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is advantageous.
• Physically fit and capable of assisting with patient transfers.
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
