Alt Text Writer Role

The Alt Text Writer will be responsible for creating descriptive text for images, videos, and other multimedia content to make them accessible to individuals with visual impairments.

• Authoring high-quality alt text
• Reviewing and revising existing alt text

The alt text should be a short description of the figure involved, readable aloud by screen readers, and should be (relatively) short: under 125 characters.

Image Description Specialist Responsibilities

• Create accurate and concise alt text and extended descriptions for eBooks and EPUB files.
• Ensure accessibility for visually impaired readers by describing images, graphs, tables, and visuals.
• Collaborate with authors and external experts to meet accessibility guidelines.
