devx Labs is an AI-native consulting company that fundamentally reimagines business operations around AI capabilities. We don’t just implement AI tools - we transform how enterprises operate through first-principles thinking and outcome-driven execution.
About the role:
As an AI Technical Architect at devx labs, you're the bridge between a client's business problem and the technical system that solves it. You lead technical discovery, design solution architectures, build engineering estimates, and shape technical strategy across our three practice areas — Customer Interactions, AI-Led Business Operations, and Enterprise Architecture. You're the person in the room who can hear "we need to modernize our customer experience" and translate it into a phased technical roadmap with clear deliverables, team composition, and timelines.
This isn't a paper architect role. You'll prototype, validate technical assumptions, and stay hands‑on enough to know when an estimate is realistic and when it's fiction. You're equally comfortable in a client boardroom and a code review.
Responsibilities
Technical Discovery & Solution Design (40%)
- Lead discovery workshops: Run technical discovery sessions with client stakeholders to understand business processes, pain points, data landscapes, and transformation goals.
- Architect AI-native solutions: Design end-to-end system architectures — covering agentic AI components (multi-agent workflows, RAG, LLM orchestration), application layers (Next.js, TypeScript, Medusa), data infrastructure (PostgreSQL, vector DBs), and cloud deployment across our partner platforms (AWS Bedrock, Gemini Enterprise / Vertex AI on Google Cloud).
- Evaluate and recommend: Assess build-vs-buy decisions, technology stack choices, model selection, and integration approaches based on client constraints and ROI.
- Create technical proposals: Produce detailed architecture documents, system diagrams, and technical narratives that win client trust and close deals.
- Build accurate estimates: Break down complex engagements into phased delivery plans with task-level estimates across modules, roles, and timelines.
- Define team composition: Specify the right mix of AI Engineers, AI-Native Engineers, and Platform Engineers for each engagement; factor in AI-assisted productivity gains.
- Risk assessment: Identify technical risks, dependency chains, and integration complexity; build mitigation strategies into project plans.
- Scope management: Work with Practice Leaders and Outcome Managers to balance ambition with delivery reality — protecting both client outcomes and team sustainability.
Technical Leadership & Pre-Sales (30%)
- Technical credibility in sales: Join pre-sales conversations to provide technical depth, answer architecture questions, and demonstrate devx labs' engineering capability.
- POC and prototype leadership: Build rapid proofs-of-concept that validate technical feasibility and demonstrate value before full engagement commitment.
- Cross-practice knowledge: Maintain deep understanding across all three practice areas — Customer Interactions, AI-Led Business Operations, and Enterprise Architecture — to architect integrated solutions.
- Mentor and elevate: Guide Senior AI Engineers on architectural thinking, system design principles, and client communication skills.
Requirements
Mindset
- Strategic architect with strong problem-solving and business acumen.
- Pragmatic, delivery-focused, and AI-first in approach.
Technical Skills
- Expertise in system architecture, cloud platforms (AWS and Google Cloud), and AI/ML solutions.
- Agentic AI engineering is a must: proven experience designing, building, and deploying agentic AI systems in production — multi-agent architectures, tool use / function calling, orchestration frameworks, agent evaluation, and the deployment/ops side (monitoring, guardrails, cost control), not just prototypes.
- Partner-ecosystem fluency: devx labs is a Gemini Enterprise Partner and an AWS Partner — hands-on experience architecting on Gemini Enterprise / Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock (or equivalent depth on one with the ability to ramp fast on the other) is expected.
- Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG, agents, and modern application stacks.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript, Next.js, Python, and PostgreSQL.
- Ability to create accurate estimates and scalable technical roadmaps
- Strong stakeholder communication and workshop facilitation skills.
- Trusted advisor capable of translating business needs into technical solutions.
Experience
- 7+ years in software engineering and architecture.
- 3+ years building production AI/ML systems.
- Experience delivering large-scale solutions and leading technical engagements.
- Consulting, pre-sales, or solutions architecture experience preferred.
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.).
- AI tool credits and freedom to experiment with modern approaches.
- Performance-based appraisal at 6 months + annual appraisal cycle.
- Competitive pay with a structured CTC breakup.
- Work with clients across industries and domains.
- Hybrid model with work-from-home support and flexible working hours.
- No-cap leave policy — take time off responsibly, no fixed limits.
- Health insurance with spouse and kids coverage included.
- Yearly outings, and an open environment for innovation.
