Job summary

ByteDance's AI Data & Safety team advances Seed's foundational models and safety across multimodal AI products, from evaluation to data generation. You will help build scalable safety workflows with researchers, product teams, and engineers, driving responsible AI practices across the organization.

You will translate findings into practical insights, manage end-to-end projects, and support resilient safety tooling and processes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in AI Policy, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Philosophy, or related discipline.
• Strong command of English in written and oral communication.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative data and translate them into insights.
• Proven project management abilities with experience leading cross-functional initiatives.
• Creative problem-solving mindset and comfort working under ambiguity to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on AI safety developments across academia and industry.
• Identify limitations in evaluation paradigms and propose novel, defensible testing approaches.
• Design and refine safety evaluation guidelines for multi-models.
• Define metrics to assess safety-related behaviors, failure modes, and alignment with responsible AI principles.
• Analyze safety evaluation results to surface issues from model training, fine-tuning, or product integration.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to build scalable safety evaluation workflows and feedback loops.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycles including scoping, planning, execution, and delivery.
