Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is seeking a Research Scientist to join an interdisciplinary team advancing AI-driven materials discovery platforms. You will help integrate experimental materials research, data infrastructure, and AI to accelerate discovery and optimization of advanced materials.

You will work with experimental scientists, computational researchers, and AI specialists to develop data-driven workflows and autonomous experimentation.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant materials or computational field.
• Strong programming experience in Python for scientific computing.
• Experience with ML/AI in data-driven materials research is desirable.
• Experience with data management, databases, and HPC environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and support experimental research on advanced materials.
• Develop automated experimental protocols ensuring high-quality data.
• Build and maintain materials datasets from multiple sources.
• Develop automated data processing and AI-driven discovery workflows.
• Create Python-based tools for data collection, preprocessing, visualization, and analysis.
• Collaborate to integrate instruments, databases, and workflows into a unified platform.
• Apply ML and statistics to identify structure-property relationships and optimize materials.
• Support AI-assisted research tools and collaborations across disciplines.
