AI Infra Architect: Cloud & Edge Compute Lead

Job summary

Tencent Overseas IT invites an experienced infrastructure leader to drive cloud/edge infrastructure projects within the AI Compute Centre. You will translate business needs into capacity plans, coordinate data centre readiness, and ensure smooth handover to operations.

You will collaborate with compute, networking, storage, and facilities teams, challenge assumptions, and manage suppliers through design reviews, delivery milestones, and governance to support AI workloads reliably.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure roles (architecture, delivery, or service management).
• Strong data centre or enterprise networking experience with topology review and capacity planning.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, L2/L3, VLANs, BGP and OSPF; data centre/network design principles.
• Experience delivering networks across data centres, cloud environments, or multiple sites with suppliers.
• Ability to review test plans and evidence, identify gaps, and drive issue resolution with engineers and suppliers.
• Experience with data centre migration, site deployment, or multi-team infrastructure transitions.
• Experience managing suppliers through design reviews, delivery milestones, acceptance, and production handover.
• Ability to assess infrastructure proposals across compute, network, storage, availability, and operations.
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate demand into infrastructure requirements; define capacity, bandwidth, latency, and accessibility.
• Lead network design and delivery reviews with internal architects and suppliers.
• Manage network providers and delivery dependencies across circuits and cabling.
• Drive data centre readiness: rack space, power, cooling, access, installation prerequisites.
• Own integration and acceptance governance with evidence for connectivity and latency.
• Maintain integrated plans, risks, decision logs, and handover documentation.
• Communicate design trade-offs, defects, capacity constraints, and schedules clearly.
