About the job

We are seeking an experienced AI Enterprise Architect to lead the development and transformation of customer-facing web applications for a leading infrastructure company. This role will drive the adoption of AI-led software engineering practices, building scalable digital products while transforming how software is designed, developed, tested, and delivered.

This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing engineering team, champion AI-assisted development and agentic engineering workflows, and shape the next generation of digital customer experiences.

Responsibilities

You will lead a team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of customer-facing web applications, ensuring high standards of software architecture, scalability, security, and performance. Working closely with product managers, UX designers, and technology stakeholders, you will drive engineering excellence and deliver reliable, intuitive digital experiences.

A key focus will be leading the adoption of AI-driven software engineering practices across the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, code review, debugging, and CI/CD. You will evaluate and implement AI coding agents, agentic workflows, and developer automation tools to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery efficiency.

You will also establish engineering standards, provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement across modern web application development and cloud-native engineering practices.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced AI Enterprise Architect with strong hands‑on software engineering fundamentals and a proven track record of leading teams delivering customer‑facing web applications.

Strong experience in modern frontend and backend development, web application architecture, APIs, cloud‑native development, CI/CD, and software testing is essential. Hands‑on experience designing, developing, and deploying applications within AWS cloud environments will be highly relevant.

You should have practical experience adopting AI‑assisted software development tools and agentic engineering workflows, with exposure to technologies such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or equivalent solutions. The ability to integrate AI into engineering workflows beyond basic code generation, including automated testing, code reviews, and software delivery, will be particularly valuable.

The successful candidate should combine strong technical leadership, people management capabilities, and an AI‑first engineering mindset, with the ability to challenge traditional development practices and lead teams through technology transformation in a large complex organisation.
