Job summary

Visa is seeking an applied AI engineering professional to build and run the Agent for AP leadership, a full-stack analytics agent enabling exploration, analysis, visualization, and explanation of financial data in natural language.

You will write Python and SQL, work in a Node.js and React codebase, and own end-to-end workstreams with cross-functional partners ensuring accuracy and reliability in production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years building analytical applications, data workflows, or AI-powered products.
• Ability to independently deliver defined projects or technical workstreams.
• Strong Python and SQL used for production code, including testing, logging, and debugging.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered apps, including instruction design, tool calling, structured outputs, and failure handling.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and production codebase ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend the analytical agent harness with goals, context, instructions, tools, validation checks, and escalation paths.
• Design the workflow for a user question from data retrieval to SQL generation, validation, narrative, and visualization.
• Make agent behavior reliable in production with structured outputs, tool calling, durable state, retries, timeouts, and failure handling.
• Develop Python services, Node.js APIs, and React/TypeScript interfaces that form the product.
• Govern data access, security, and governance with platform teams; ensure trusted data is used and information is clearly flagged when unavailable.
• Validate agent outputs against trusted data and establish evaluation tests and acceptance criteria.
