Job summary
Republic Polytechnic (RP) in Singapore is seeking an experienced Assistant Director (Capability and Industry) to lead technology strategy, capability development and industry engagement. You will translate advanced technologies into business solutions, guide cross‑functional teams, and shape RP’s IT innovation trajectory.
With a strong AI focus and a background in capability and business development, you will oversee practitioner training, partner with government and industry, and drive growth
Qualifications
- At least 10 years of professional IT experience with a strong foundation in AI and emerging technologies.
- Proven ability to build and nurture high‑performing teams.
- Track record in capability development, business development, growth and technology transformation.
- Experience developing and deploying AI-enabled IT solutions.
- Experience collaborating with government agencies, research institutes, and industry partners.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with senior management and partners.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead capability development initiatives to strengthen the School’s technology capabilities, focusing on AI and emerging technologies.
- Monitor and anticipate industry trends, evolving skillsets, and solution needs to keep RP at the forefront of IT innovation.
- Align departmental competencies to develop and implement a technology roadmap supporting RP’s long‑term goals.
- Oversee planning and delivery of technology projects and training programmes in emerging technology domains.
- Contribute to design and delivery of training courses or projects and learner development activities.
- Lead, coach and develop high‑performing teams to drive industry projects and training programmes.
- Forge strategic partnerships with industry, academia, government agencies and other stakeholders to expand RP’s reach.
- Represent RP at events to enhance visibility, build partnerships and stay updated on industry developments.
- Drive business growth by identifying opportunities, developing go‑to‑market strategies, and engaging with enterprises and government agencies.
- Adapt to evolving technologies and market landscapes to propose innovative IT solutions.
