Avalara's Agile Enablement Team is looking for an experienced SAFe implementation and Program Delivery Agile Coach to join our Engineering Teams. As an Agile Coach, you will support the Technology group to ensure program teams follow the SAFe process and bring organizational structure and Agile disciplines into daily operational management. You will promote SAFe and Agile best practices by educating colleagues, coaching teams, collaborating with leaders on Agile adoption strategies, and working with the AET Lead to implement Agile methodologies across the organization. The candidate will report to the Sr. Director at Avalara.

What You'll Do

• Understand and implement Avalara SDLC in Delivery Teams (ARTs).
• Work with OCTO leaders in Prod Security, Architecture, and Reliability Engineering to streamline their goals to Engineering Dev teams.
• Partner with RTEs in Lean Portfolio Management Roadmapping across multiple teams.
• Act as a hands-on Agile Coach for 15+ teams and multiple ARTs, guiding SDLC adoption and building quality products following Agile processes.
• Coach teams to develop both next-generation and current products.
• Understand large software domains and perform agile project management on large software projects.
• Ensure KPI metrics and insights are provided to leadership through Jira monitoring.
• Partner with RTEs to facilitate dependency management across business units.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product Leaders to remove roadblocks and align on expectations.
• Oversee team health metrics and project needs.
• Help teams recognize and produce Agile artifacts.
• Facilitate delivery of release train milestones using appropriate tools.

What You'll Need to be Successful

• 10+ years in software development.
• 8+ years of Agile experience in Scrum and Kanban on technical projects.
• 5+ years in mid to large enterprise software project management.
• 2+ years implementing or working within SAFe framework.
• Experience in SaaS product development.
• Excellent relationship management skills.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
• SAFe Certification.

Must Have

• Deep understanding of Agile principles, Portfolio Management, and DevOps practices.
• Nuanced understanding of Scrum & Kanban.
• Experience with large-scale project management, release planning, and coordination.
• Experience working with multi-team data dependency environments.
• Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and advanced filters.
