Senior Agile Coach

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Agile Coach with 10+ years of professional experience and a strong background spanning Agile Coaching, Project & Delivery Management, Product Management, and Business Analysis.

The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers, project managers, business stakeholders, technology teams, and senior leadership to improve Agile maturity, product delivery, business outcomes, and organizational effectiveness.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Agile leader and trusted advisor who combines deep Agile expertise with strong experience in project delivery, product management, business analysis, stakeholder management, and organizational change.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Coaching & Transformation

• Coach teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Product Managers, project managers, and leaders on Agile principles, practices, and ways of working.
• Assess Agile maturity across teams and organizations and develop practical improvement roadmaps.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, PI planning, and other planning events where applicable.
• Identify and remove organizational, process, delivery, and team-level impediments.
• Promote continuous improvement, transparency, collaboration, accountability, and a culture of ownership.
• Help teams adopt Agile practices appropriate to their context rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
• Lead and support Agile transformation initiatives across teams, programs, and organizational functions.
• Establish and track Agile metrics such as velocity, throughput, cycle time, predictability, quality, flow, and delivery performance.
• Identify systemic issues affecting delivery and work with leadership to address organizational constraints.

Product Management & Product Delivery

• Partner with Product Managers, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and technology leaders to establish effective product management and Agile delivery practices.
• Support the development and continuous refinement of product vision, strategy, roadmaps, goals, and priorities.
• Coach product teams on effective backlog management, prioritization, release planning, and value-based decision-making.
• Facilitate alignment between business strategy, product objectives, customer needs, and technology delivery.
• Support prioritization of initiatives based on business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies, and organizational objectives.
• Help teams move from output-focused delivery toward outcome-oriented product development.
• Establish and monitor product and delivery metrics to assess value realization, customer outcomes, and product performance.
• Support Product Owners and Product Managers in managing stakeholder expectations and balancing competing priorities.
• Promote effective collaboration between product, business, design, engineering, and delivery teams.

Project & Delivery Management

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee complex projects, programs, and initiatives from initiation through delivery.
• Partner with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, milestones, dependencies, risks, and success criteria.
• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations where applicable.
• Provide delivery status, insights, forecasts, and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure alignment across business and technology stakeholders.
• Support portfolio, program, and resource prioritization to ensure successful delivery.
• Establish effective governance, reporting, and delivery management practices while maintaining Agile principles.
• Identify delivery risks and proactively develop mitigation and recovery strategies.

Business Analysis

• Engage with business stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, pain points, opportunities, and requirements.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to elicit, analyze, validate, and prioritize requirements.
• Translate business needs into clear epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and functional requirements.
• Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners, business analysts, and development teams to ensure requirements are understood and actionable.
• Analyze current-state and future-state business processes and identify opportunities for optimization.
• Support solution evaluation and ensure delivered solutions address the underlying business need.
• Identify gaps between business objectives and proposed solutions and facilitate alignment across stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement

• Build strong relationships with business, technology, product, project, and delivery leadership.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on Agile delivery, product management, project execution, and organizational transformation.
• Facilitate discussions involving competing priorities, dependencies, risks, delivery challenges, and organizational constraints.
• Provide coaching and recommendations to leadership on Agile adoption, product delivery, and organizational change.
• Promote effective communication and collaboration across business and technology teams.
• Influence stakeholders and teams without relying solely on formal authority.
• Communicate complex delivery and organizational challenges clearly to executive and senior management audiences.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 13+ years of overall professional experience, with significant experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Proven experience working as an Agile Coach across multiple teams and/or complex organizations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Experience with SAFe or other enterprise Agile scaling frameworks is advantageous.
• Strong Project Management and Delivery Management experience.
• Strong Product Management / Product Ownership experience, including product vision, roadmaps, backlog management, prioritization, and value delivery.
• Strong Business Analysis experience, including requirements elicitation, process analysis, stakeholder management, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrated experience leading Agile transformation, organizational change, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience coaching multiple teams and working with senior stakeholders and leadership.
• Strong understanding of product development, software development, and end-to-end delivery lifecycles.
• Demonstrated ability to operate across both strategic and tactical levels.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, complex, and changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
• Agile coaching certification such as ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, CSP, PSM, CSM, or equivalent.
• SAFe certification such as SAFe Agilist, SAFe Practice Consultant, or equivalent.
• Product Management certification or demonstrated formal Product Management experience.
• Business analysis certification such as CBAP or equivalent.
• Experience with enterprise-level Agile transformation.
• Experience working across portfolios, programs, and multiple product teams.
• Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar Agile/product delivery platforms.
