Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is looking for two Agentic AI Systems Engineers to design and deploy software systems for their manufacturing AI platform. Ideal candidates will have a BEng/MEng/MSc in relevant fields and 2-5 years of experience in backend development. Knowledge of cloud deployment and enthusiasm for AI applications are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant engineering or data engineering experience.
• Experience designing and operating production services with CI/CD.
• Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL, graph, document).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs.
• Develop and operate the data and integration layer.
• Collaborate with experts to translate processes into software interfaces.
• Monitor service performance and improve deployed applications.

Skills

Backend development experience (Python, FastAPI)

Experience with REST APIs

Comfortable with structured and unstructured data stores

Containerization and cloud deployment knowledge

Enthusiasm for agentic AI applications
